LIST OF WORKS

 BY ROBERT DE BEAUGRANDE

updated March 2007

NOTE: Downloading with Internet Explorer (which is designed to be compatible with Microsoft WORD) will give a much better image than with Netscape Navigator! (Yes, I know, I know!)

This list was originally arranged in 1999 for my "curriculum vitae" by text type (and with books before papers) and then by subject-matter, with each one in roughly chronological order. In more recent years, new additions are simply posted as such on the home page for easier recognition.

Many works  which were not in electronic form have been scanned with an HP ScanJet 5200 and later with a HP PSC 1315, both of which are supposed to "understand" English, but do so in a decidedly hazy manner; I edited them and checked for spelling, but there will be probably be some minor interpolations like ‘he’ for ‘be’ (an HP speciality).

Works already on the website display a Hyperlink pointer on the titles. At first,  they were saved as Web Pages in Microsoft WORD for Windows 2000 and in 12pt Arial or Times New Roman, single spaced; later I opted for FrontPage Ariel, and 1.5 spaced, which is friendlier on the eyes.  They should be readable without serious problems in WORD for Windows 95 through XP (from WORD 6.0 onwards); some graphics may still be unruly, but I have fixed all the ones that misbehaved on my own browser.  If you need something in WordPerfect, Richtext, Text Only, and so on, or compatible for Macintosh, I may be able to transmit it e-mail if I know exactly which version. Also please let me know if some hyperlink givens a "not found" message! I can be contacted at
